MAX AND IVAN'S THE WRESTLING

Venue: INDIGO AT THE O2

Sun 05 March 8:00pm

MAX & IVAN’S THE WRESTLING – first set of performers revealed!

It’s punchlines versus clotheslines, as the grandest spectacle in the comedy universe comes to London for the very first time. Calling the action at ringside will be the all-star commedian Aisling Bea! Your MC for the evening is Suzi Ruffell! Making their wrestling debuts are Alex Horne, Ed ‘The Gambler’ Gamble, Phil ‘Phil Wang’ Wang, Glenn Moore AKA 'Glenn Morgue’! The Wrestling’s creators Max & Ivan will be appearing in tag team action, and Rosie ‘Daddy’ Jones will be defending her championship belt. Hot scoops and reportage will come from the fearless Olga Koch and the fearful Matthew ‘The Pacifist’ Crosby. More names to be announced soon, until then, let’s get ready to rumble.

Says Aisling Bea: “As a proud Irishwoman I’m looking forward to putting the ’tater in commentator - a joke which works better when spoken aloud, which is WHAT I’LL BE DOING ON MARCH 5th."

Of his impending debut, Ed Gamble says: "That’s right, 'The Gambler' is stepping into the ring, and I'm gonna treat my opponents like my poker cards - I know when to hold 'em, and I know when to fold 'em."

THE WRESTLING is the creation of acclaimed comedy double-act Max & Ivan – Max having once been the youngest professional wrestler in the UK. The award-winning mega-event has previously taken place in Edinburgh, and at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and is coming to London for the first time. “The Wrestling and JFL London – it’s a (wrestling) match made in heaven! I’m pumped, I’m hyped, and I’m psyched!” says Max. “That’s right! Max is all those things!” says Ivan. “Also I’ll be there, too. And we’re delighted to maintain our 100% track record of bringing The Wrestling to capital cities (if like us, you consider Melbourne the capital of Australia).”

With more competitors to be announced, competition for Rosie Jones’ championship promises to be fierce – but Jones is unfazed. "In Edinburgh I pushed Nish Kumar through a table to win The Wrestling championship, and on March 5th you're going to see why I'm the champ!” says Rosie Jones. “Daddy's coming to JFL London, and she's going to defend her big shiny gold belt! Bring it on, baby!"
